My first Storyboard

Storyboards... I've seen these done everywhere and I've wanted to make one for quite awhile but just never found the time. I've also been a little intimidated by them... not sure why?! Regardless, I decided I would make one today with the pictures from my previous post... Jonathann. So, here it is...

I think it came out cute and look forward to having it printed and giving it to his parents!

Happiness in a childs eyes

I wanted to share some photos I took of my nephew - Jonathann. He is such a happy little guy and holds a very special place in my heart. His mom and I are very close (you can say we are BFF's), she is always there for me when I need support (regardless of the time of day) with great advice or just a listening ear. Unfortunately, they live 2 hours away from us but we still keep in close contact over the phone and do spend a couple of days a month together. With Jonathann being her first child she needed a little help and guidance during his first few months and so I was privileged to get to know him quite well during their stays in our home. They are a beautiful, growing family and I am so thankful to have them in my life.
Recently, Jonathann had his first birthday, it was my hopes to photograph his special day as my gift to him and his parents. Although, we were unable to be there on his birthday, we did have he chance to visit just a couple of weeks later. To everyone's surprise that happened to be the weekend he decided to "officially" start walking! What a wonderful experience! Three times now, I've felt the overcoming joy a mother feels when her baby starts walking for the first time, but never had I experienced that same feeling with someone else's child. We were all so happy and joyful to share this time together!
I do not claim these pictures to be my best work... in fact I can critique them to death... many are out of focus, none are taken from a "good" angle, so on... but the photography is not my main reason for sharing, I have to continue to remind myself that! I do however, think that these pictures do tell a little piece of the story behind his first walking experience!

He was being a very typical 1 year old and wouldn't look at me or the camera, he didn't have time for such nonsense... the grass was much more interesting!

And so he starts off crawling...

Then to his feet... (Yes, that is a little drool from his mouth)

A little wobbly here...

One step at a time...

He was so happy to be walking... you could just see the joy on his face during his first couple of steps...

It was just so cute how he used his arms to balance himself... his arms were just as important at his success in walking as his legs were!

A little more confident now...

This face he's making really is a happy one... just being silly by this point!

I still would like to take more pictures of him for his 1st birthday... hopefully the opportunity will arise soon! I just love this sweet poem... it explains perfectly the reason for this post.

A CHILD'S EYES

Imagine a world with nothing but love.
Imagine the beauty of the sky above.
Imagine seeing the grace of a flower in bloom,
To see all the wonderment of a full moon.

To see such fun in a fresh fallen snow.
To look forward to tomorrow with an innocent glow.
To believe in Santa on Christmas Eve.
To believe that happiness will never leave.

If only we could all see the beauty
from the ground to the skys.
If only we were all looking
through a childs eyes. . .

Baby M.

I recently was honored to photograph a beautiful little newborn... Baby M. She weighed in at only 6lbs 12oz, little but perfect in every way! On this day she was approx. 2 weeks old. She was having a little bit of a cranky day but I was able to get a few memorable photos of her and the family.

Her older Sister and Brother were tons of fun to photograph!

I just love tiny fingers! Look how l-o-n-g they are!

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb." Psalm 139:13

I was able to get a few with her eyes OPEN, that's nearly impossible to get with a newborn!

I just L-O-V-E this one... from her cute little mouth, her button nose, squinty eyes, to her wrinkly little forehead.

Just so-o-o-o-o sweet...

Even when she's crying she's cute!

Congratulations to my dear friend and her family on their newest little addition...

“Children too are a gift from the LORD, the fruit of the womb, a reward.” Psalm 127:3
