Easter

I have been planning on posting these pictures from Easter for about a month now, but as the current theme goes in my life, I've just been too busy to do it. I've sat down at the computer several times to work on the photos and add my watermark but something always comes up, the kids need something, the phone rings, someone starts crying... you know normal everyday life for a stay-at-home mom to 4 kids.
Easter was a little different this year than how we "normally" celebrate it. I don't know how it slipped my mind, but I realized at about 8pm the night before that the kids still needed to color the eggs! But, I forgot to buy eggs! So we ran to the store, boiled & colored eggs, then I stayed up putting together the Easter baskets and filling plastic eggs with candy and money. So needless to say I was a little sluggish Easter morning. We attended Easter service at church and then headed home to meet my side of the family and continue with the festivities (egg hunt, baskets & dinner).
I normally have things a little more planned out and have some of the preparations already done well before Easter arrives but this year that didn't happen. Also, I normally take pictures of the kids a week before and have them printed to hand out to family on Easter day. But again, that was something I hadn't done yet. So after church we raced home and ran out to the back yard to take at least one picture of each child. I was able to get one of each of the three oldest kids but then family arrived and my impromptu photo shoot was put to a halt.
I really only took one posed picture of each of my children, so there was none to "choose" from. Also, playing hostess and still being MOM, I didn't get much of a chance to take pictures through-out the day either.

 Our oldest, Daina

Our second, Ryley

Our third, Brayden

All 4 together

As I said before, I didn't take any pictures of our littlest Rigan, but check back soon for my next post. I took tons of him the next day and got several shots that I'm very happy with and I can't wait to share them with you!!

Even though our Easter was a little different this year, we still enjoyed each other and loved on each other and remembered the real reason for Easter... in our home, it's not the Easter bunny, candy, colored eggs, or baskets that we celebrate...

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead... 1 Peter 1:3
